JANE LONG RETURNS TO BOLIVAR PENINSULA

"Mother of Texas" Jane Long didn't just survive that terrible winter of 1821 on the Bolivar Peninsula.  She has returned.  Jane (aka Dr. Melanie Wallace) will again trod the boards at our annual JANE LONG FESTIVAL.

The festival occurs on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Fort Travis Park.  Admission is free, and all are urged to bring lawn chairs and ice chests.  There will be booths, bands, food, entertainment, games, reenactments, and more.  PIRATES AND PETTICOATS (Jane Long on the Bolivar Peninsula) will be presented at 1:30 PM.

Come and celebrate in honor of "The Mother of Texas".  Jane Long survived, we survive, and we continue to survive and thrive on the Bolivar Peninsula!
